My goodness...I can't remember a class with this much talent that collectively just didn't pan out for many reasons

  • Dajuan Wagner - showed promise early but had the worst luck ever. Bad injuries and horrible illnesses killed his career.
  • Kelvin Torbert - this dude didn't even pan out in college
    tired.gif
  • Jawad Williams - role player in college...10 day contract NBA caliber player
  • Kwame Brown -
    indifferent.gif
  • Eddy Curry - Flat out just turned to be a lazy bum. Could have been great if he put in the work.
  • Jonathan Hargett - The most difficult player I've ever had to check. Could have went pro out of HS. Was throwing the ball off the backboard in half court sets.
    sick.gif
Got caught getting cake from a "street agent"...NCAA banned him for life.
  • Julius Hodge - Was pretty good at State...just never developed into an NBA player
  • James White - possibly the most gifted athlete playing basketball. showed signs of being a serviceable NBA player at Cincy...but for some reason just hasn't put it all together. Currently, killing in the D-League
  • David Lee - Straight workhorse. Numbers may be inflated a bit, but still a great role playing big man. Will always have a job in the NBA. Should have been an all star this year based on numbers and position
  • Ousmane Cisse - Got drafted 2nd round after going pro out of HS...never heard from again.
  • T.J. Ford - Probably the best college career out of anyone in this class. Was supposed to be what Chris Paul is today, but more athletic. Injuries hurt his progress...still a starting caliber NBA point guard nonetheless
  • Dommanic Ingerson - Milk Carton
  • John Allen - Milk Carton
  • Wayne Simien - Knee injury derailed his progress. Never amounted to @*%% in the NBA.
  • Tyson Chandler - Never developed into the dominant big man everyone thought he would be but his combination of athleticism and defensive skills has made him alot of money.
  • Carlos Hurt - Left Louisville early and was never seen again
  • Josh Childress - Definitely not a star but was a solid NBA player. Bizarre circumstances put him in Greece but he'll back in the league probably next year.
  • Anthony Richardson - Never heard of him after Florida State.
  • Rick Rickert - This guy actually used to be #1 on various mock drafts while he was at Minnesota. Let that gas him and fell completely off. Most notable thing since then is getting punched by KG
  • David Harrison - Honestly was a lazy headcase in HS, and College. Managed to make it to the NBA with his size and talent...but as expected...fell off early.
  • Mo Williams - Unexpectedly ended up as an NBA All Star.
  • David Maxiell - Good career at Cincy...great NBA role player despite being undersized.
  • Pierre Pierce -
    tired.gif
  • Rashaad Carruth -
    tired.gif
  • Emeka Okafor - Wasn't ranked in the top 100 let alone top 50...ended up being the best player in this class.

I'd disagree about Emeka being the best player in this class. Dude puts up the most underwhelming 20 and 10's sometimes. I'm a big fan too. He's barely any better now as compared to his rookie season.

Who is better?
Julius Hodge - Was pretty good at State...just never developed into an NBA player
About two months ago, I typed out a long !$% post about him, but I didn't end up posting it.

I can't figure out how he never locked on with an NBA team. Not even as a contributor, but I feel like he's better than a lot of guys who occupy endsof benches in the league now.

6'7", thin but didn't play soft, athletic, long, versatile, great passer. His only real weakness was shooting, but he still put the ball in thecup.

One of the most versatile college players in recent memory, and one of my favorites ever.

Kelvin Torbert was really the second ranked player coming out that year?

Pierre Pierce, another one of my favorites.

Tys and Maxiell.

Dude is like an urban legend.
Basically...he and his mom were getting SERIOUS cake from a local "street agent/leech" type of dude with the understanding that he wasrepresent Jon when he turned PRO. I'm not 100% positive on this next part but Gale Catlett (WVU coach at the time) knew all about it and other shadybusiness going down within the program and he ended up resigning after Jon's first year. When Dale Dakich came in, he was approached by the "streetagent/leech" dude and tried to regulate %@%$ about the direction of the team and Jon's agenda. Dakich dropped the dime to the Athletic Director andquit before the year even started...investigation ensues...4 dudes get kicked off the team...Jon gets banned for life. Tried to come back with Virginia Unionbut the NCAA denied his re-instatement. Travled as a "street baller" up and down the east coast for a while and ended up putting his name in the 05draft and worked out for several teams but of course didn't get drafted due to his background. Ended up in the CBL...ABA...IBL one of them amateur leaguesand was putting in work before the league folded. Somewhere along that time frame he sustained a major knee injury...never been heard from SINCE. None of uswho played with him ever stayed in contact with him and we don't know where he is. Neither do the coaches.

Julius Hodge was sick in college, but if he had some weight on him it woulda been over

It's Jason, and hes a future star (yes hometeambiased)

I remember reading an article I think posted here about Hargett and how he was killing in Pro Am's and summer leagues and stuff like that. I guess he hurthis knee after. Everyone used to say how he was the best and most gifted player out of that class. Ousmanne Cisse was on the Raptors summer league squad awhile ago, I remember Slam had a story on him about how he was just a beast and would get like 20 blocks a game.

Easily...it honestly was a toss up between him and Wagner in that class. Til this day...I haven't seen anyone do that !%%# I used to seeHargett pull off in games. He used to pull off some unreal !%%#.

The Charlotte Bobcats largely ignore Emeka on offense and I have no idea why. It's not like he is a bad offensive player as it turns out playing with abunch of chuckers like, DJ, Felton, and Adam Morrison hinders your development offensively.

What a +%#!@%% Head Case he was.

And the thing about Ju Hodge, was that....He wasn't really Great at any 1 particular thing. And w/ him being a tweener, he needed to br really good at somepart of his game, and he wasn't. He also wasn't overly athletic. Not to mention the fact that he got shot.
