I remember watching that Oak Hill team with Edelin and Caruth and Diop back at the Millennium Cup Tourney in Vegas...whole squad was niiiiice. Damn shame none of em (unless you exclude Diop) panned out in college.

same here but maybe because I'm a homer since he went to my HS and our basketball coach would always talk about him. [IMG]. Honestly he was too undersized to play a 4 but didn't have the right skillset to play a 3

Smh, I was a top 100 player in the class of 2001, now im the manager of a car lot.... SERIOUSLY. Funny how things work out, your forgeting a few players though, Ben Gordon, Hakim Warrick.... 2001 was stacked with talent, however your right in stating the class definetely didnt pan out.

    Najeeb Echols [IMG][IMG]

Dude was talking reckless on the Fox Sports Prep show about how Ron Artest was trash and shouldnt be in the league when he was with the Bulls. Where is Najeeb these days?

I either played against a lot of these guys, or went to the same camps and tournaments as them, and while they were all ridiculously athletic, you could tell right away who had their heads on straight.

TJ Ford [IMG] I was sooo happy the Bucks drafted him. Dude was the real deal at Texas.
Had some serious back injuries, good to see he's still in the NBA.

He played varsity as a freshman at Young the year I made last cut as a junior. Dude had talent but it seems like it all went downhill after he transferred.

Thanks for that article. Dejuan will always be one of my favorite players. He was a freak. I really think he could have been polarizing on the NBA court if not for the injuries. Him and coach Cal brought Memphis back to national attention.

    Damb, good read on Juanny.

Julius Hodge & Allen Ray did their thing at St. Rays.. I'm mad neither of their NBA careers worked out.. They took the State chip back in 01'.. I had Julius Hodge's locker in school. [IMG]
