I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Having boring textbooks, I just had to finish 2 chapters in a biology book and I fell asleep twice.
Now it's the philosophy book's turn.

Depends on the class. I hated reading text books for Biology, Statistics and Economics. But I loved reading for my Sociology and Business Management classes,which is why I majored in both.

I just imagine fast cars, models, bottles, and annual bonus checks while studying.

you know what I didn't do... Read the books... Even my American Politics class and that was by far my favorite class that had reading.
