College/University info and reputation east coast

I'm in Germany but grew up in the States and I'm going to be studying in the States. So far I've been accepted to Syracuse, Ithaca College and UConn. There's only so much I can find out about on the web since I'm in Germany. I just want to know what the schools are known for in the US.
I want to major in English if that helps.
