Between the overly-publicized Notre Dame graduation protesters and the killing of the Kansas abortion doctor, Pro-Lifers are having the best weeks ever!Congrats! In just the span of a few weeks you have successfully been able to ruin one of the most important occasions in the lives of many college studentsand knock off a courageous man who understood the complexities women's health care. Getting @!%% done. Congrats on getting to defend oneaction (protesters) and getting to laughably distance yourself from the other (the murder of the abortion doctor) with sentences like "I think what ScottRoeder did is terrible, but I also know that no other babies are going to die at his hands." Once again, congratulations Pro-Lifers, you have earned aweek of wishy-washy sound bites.

I would never box any party in like that, they do enough of that themselves. I was referring to the origin of the term. I am sure there are millions of"pro life" democrats.

Yeah, some of the comments about the guy who murdered the doctor are just nuts - about how he was actually saving lives by killing him.

It just doesn't make sense - fair enough if you are pro-life and spend time protesting and promoting your beliefs - but killing to save lives? That'sjust crazy.

Yeah, it's amazing, kdawg. I was watching some interview with another doctor who was very upfront with the hazards of the job. He was saying that someclinics have four or five to keep the crazies out.

When I heard about the shooting I couldn't help but to be reminded of this song called "Hello Birmingham" It is beautifully written. It'sabout the death of Dr. Slepian in Buffalo and the bombing of a clinic in Birmingham.

hold me down
i am floating away
into the overcast skies
over my home town
on election day

what is it about birmingham?
what is it about buffalo?

did the hate filled want to build bunkers
in your beautiful red earth
they want to build them in our shiny white snow
and now i've drawn closed the curtains
in this little booth
where the truth has no place to stand
and i am feeling oh so powerless
in this stupid booth
with this useless little lever in my hand
and outside
my city is bracing
for the next killing thing
standing by the bridge
and praying for the next doctor martin luther king

it was just one shot
through the kitchen window
just one or two miles from here
if you fly like a crow

a bullet came to visit a doctor
in his one safe place

a bullet ensuring the right to life
whizzed past his kid and his wife
and knocked his glasses right off of his face

and the blood poured off the pulpit
yeah the blood poured down the picket lines
and the hatred was immediate, yeah
and the vengence was divine

so they went and stuffed god down the barrel of a gun
and after him they stuffed his only son

hello birmingham; it's buffalo
i heard you had some trouble down there again
just calling to let to know
that somebody understands

i was once escorted
through the doors
of a clinic
by a man
in a bulletproof vest
and no bombs
went off that day
so i am still here to say
birmingham
i'm wishing you all of my best
oh birmingham
i'm wishing you all of my best
oh birmingham
i'm wishing you all of my best
on this election day

You truly don't understand what this guy had been through then. He was a champion of women's rights and was often harassed at his home andin the media. If you think someone would go through all of that just to make a buck, I feel sorry for you and the amount of cynicism you carry.

This is a guy that went on television numerous times to defend a woman's right to have an abortion, a guy who had been shot in 93, a guy who decided totake over the family business because he wanted to prevent women dying by means of illegal abortions. To compare him to a drug dealer is ludicrous, dude. Hebelieved in women's rights. He fought for them and was well respected amongst his peers.

Why don't you make a thread about it? You made a thread about government GPS's... Pathetic..

Btw, majority don't like the idea of abortions 51%-49%, but the overwhelming majority believes it should be legal.. Go read something... Must suck we livein a socially liberal country.

And Richard Cheney (won't let me spell out his name he is that much of a ++@@) killed tens of thousands of living Americans, and Iraqi civillians.. Applesand oranges?

Great that you advocate the killing of everyone. Teenagers, innocent civilians.. But don't touch the fetus.. I believe there is a difference between beingalive, and being alive and having memories.. Also it is pro-choice.. We Don't like abortions or think it is cool, we believe a woman should have achoice... Btw what is the alternative say we get rid of abortions what should we do (I am warning you it is a trap and I have a few zingers waiting for you)

Who are his peers? drug dealers have peers too and im sure they get respect from them too, that means nothing........."he went on TV" that tells me?how does that negate the fact it was about money? how does being shot negate the fact it was about money? how does taking over the family "business"say it was not about the money?......."BUSINESS" was the perfect word bro.........and yes the "compare" to a drug dealer is spot on, peoplewill do anything for money even if they get shot or have to live in fear.........stop because youre not living in the real world

And just for the record I dont agree with the War either and more because of what the innocent people that die from over there

So, because he made money doing something he believed in he obviously only did it for the money? He didn't believe in women's rights? Doplasma donors only give plasma because they get paid? Do they not believe in the good that donating does? Do preachers only preach because they get paid? Dothey not believe the word they are spreading? Suggesting that his death is the result of him being greedy is stupid.
