I missed out on the Wade 1 when it first released, so I'm considering picking up a pair now that it's been retro'ed.

I liked the Wade 1.3, it had great padding and cushioning, except it was a little heavy. How do these compare in terms of performance and sizing to the 1.3?

And what is the difference between the models with the 3 plastic pods on the back vs. the ones without?

Same Sizing, same fit. I don't know about the tech in the new ones, but the 1.3s were more cushy than the 1s when they first dropped.

Also - cop. The Wade Converse line is solid.

The 1.3 definitely had more padding on the interior of the shoe and also had a beefed up sockliner with poron inserts for added cushioning.

The Wade has a neoprene inner sleeve but feels like it may fit slightly bigger than the 1.3
I suggest upgrading the insole on the Wade 1. For those that like the Zoom Kobe IV, they should like the Wade as well.

The pods on the back of the shoe should be strictly cosmetic, they were deleted from the playoff and olympic versions of the Wade.

Thanks for the replies, I'm looking for a new guard oriented shoe to replace my zoom mvps, how does the Wade 1 compare to the Kobe IV?

The Wade has amazing court feel and comfort, but lacks the cushioning of the Lunar/Zoom equipped Kobe IV.

The Kobe IV is a bit more supportive, but for the price, the Wade is a good choice.

There aren't many shoes that can out-do the Kobe IV from an overall fit/feel perspective.

^ He's right.

Also, Wade is a tougher shoe, feels more substantial and durable. They make a really good outdoor shoe if you play on asphalt.

I bought a pair and tried it on, It feels quite good for a pair of converse ballin shoes. If wade could wear them I'm sure we can

For people with flat foot these were great. I bought one pair and to this day I regret it wasnt the black with red one. The extra space was very comfy and likethe others have mentioned for the price these were a bargain.
Still looking for one of the retro's that came out at champs, if anyone wants to let go of his PM me

me and my friends do some chops with shoes and i like to ball in wades in pickup games and such and i took my wade 1's and took out the insole did a littledigging, put in full length air unit, jump soles, then replaced the insoles. I love it I also did it with both pairs of my wade 2's and i have 2 pairs ofthe 1.3's and 1 pair of 3's im gonna do it with.

^ pics?

i put a cross trainer spenco (yea those ones they try to sell you at footlocker/champs) in the wade 1's and they felt amazing.

Converse Wade 1's are underrated for sure.

They're great basketball shoes. Just a bit lacking in the cushioning department. Very comfortable and light

Sounds great!

Anyone know where I can find them in the USA or All Star colors? (White/Navy/Red)? I'm looking for the USA olympic shoes right now...

I'm not sure what size you wear but the only place i found them where ebay. I still have my playoff wades. One of the best shoes ever! I might buy anotherpair. Who knows, we might not see them again!
