How did all this start?
i guess they just walked into a building....anywho arent they paying 60k a year for school?
what you mean? im at NYU right now...
what location are you talking about?
if you cant pay up go to a cuny, simple as that. No one feels sorry for their thousands of dollars in debt after graduation
huh whats going on? no sound at work ftl
my step cousin that goes to NYU aimed me last night twice, but i ignored him
i should have responded so he could have told me what was going on
Yea I'm interested in knowing what is going on as well. I'll be in that area later today.
nvm its for money
what a bunch of lames wasting their education
Every school's tuition increases almost every year.
You can't just protest everything you don't like.
*tunes in to 1010*
true but you should stand up for what you believe in
Is it about rising tuition? It is happening everywhere and has been for years
dummies...... that small unorganized mess wont do anything
from what i read ,,i think they are protesting cuz most of them pay 50 -60 grand a year and from what i hear i might be off but there are around 50 thousandstudents at nyu so do the math,, well these kids are protesting cuz they want to know where that money is going they want complete transparency, even to thepoint of how much teachers get paid if the schools donates money to what organizations, and also they want nyu to offer a few scholarship's to studentsfrom the gaza strip, and there gettin mad cuz the school officials wont even seat n meet with them to atleast talk
At the risk of getting hurt/arrested/blacklisted.
They're there for their education and its normal practice for a university to raise their tuition. It's a private institution, no one forced them to gothere. They really have no rights as far as protesting goes. Why not go somewhere else? Any "negotiating" the administration does with them isstrictly out of annoyance.
While their initial goals may be admirable (even if some are a bit unrealistic*) do we, as a society, condone their methods? When does a sit-in become holdinga building hostage?
*A tuition freeze? Riiiiiight.
this makes me glad i ended up going to the U
actually I take back what I said...change starts with a simple idea...
so viva la revolution!!!!
Being private I don't believe NYU has to disclose their info like a public university does. Boycott the school or their products, using the market is howyou get change!
its good that something like this is happening. we are the laziest generation and instead of doing something about things we dont agree with we just sit ourself in front of a computer and complain about it.I know some of my previous teachers would be glad about this happening. something should be organized for thesunys,. also they are gonna get hit hard next year even the cunys
