There wasn't anything he could do about that though. Gillie was locked in.

If you want to see some crazy NBA stats you gotta go back to the 1960's. Cats like Wilt, Elvin Hayes, Elgin Baylor, etc. was putting up video game numbers.

Just looked it up. They ended up winning 173-143 vs Denver. It probably says a little about the state of the NBA then when their 107 first half points beat the previous record of 90 that was set.....three days earlier by Denver.

PHX shot .644 for the game. And they attempted two total three-pointers all game, hitting none of them

Some player stats (full game, not half): Majerle - 21 pts, 13 ast. K Johnson - 23 pts, 17 ast. Ceballos - 32 pts.

Hakeem had 200 blocks and 200 steals that year too.

It's amazing to think that despite this marvelous accomplishment, which wasn't duplicated since he didn't even win DPOY that year.

And it's not like he lost to someone better, but to Mark Eaton who averaged 3.7 blocks, 0.5 steals and 5.9 defensive rebounds that year.
