to you guys out there who judge artists strictly by lyrical ability, you can just leave this thread now.

whether you "cried when pac died" or not, you can't deny this record. there's so much to be said about pac as an artist and if i were tochoose one song (other than "keep your head up") to represent what i feel epitomized pac's depth as an artist, it'd be this.

NO rapper since has ever captured raw emotion and poignancy in a single song like this. where pac lacked (lyricalsuperiority) he made up with his unprecedented ability to convey emotion and this song is a prime example of this. listening to this gets me kinda [IMG]

Your name for this post is true. This song connects at a level most artist, let alone rappers, cannot do. My mother, who cannot stand rap music, loves thissong.

Dude painted pictures with his words, and his voice was truly an instrument. Agree with OP as well, one of the greatest songs I have ever heard.

I didn't like this song when it FIRST came out... My older bro LOVED it tho, I liked the video more than the song backthen so I'd watch it on the Rap City countdown and %!@*...

As I grew older I learned to appreciate 2Pac on a WHOLE different level...

BTW Tupac Resurrection is on VH1 RIGHT now...[IMG]

This is the song that really opened my ear to Pac. I was like 9 years old when this came out and I knew every word. Pac spit from the bottom of his gut and putall his heart and soul in his words. Dude is truly missed.

    It's definitely a beautiful song!

For him to lift his mother up like that when he could have gone the other route like some have and lyrically body slammed her says a lot about hischaracter.I'm not a HUGE Pac fan,but when it came to joints like this and "Keep Your Head Up",those were undeniable gems to me.
