Yes, we do. And we shouldn't. What TIME said is absolutely true. The hook is the THESIS for the song... just look at "I'ma Hustla" forexample. That hook (and the fact that it was Jay-z on it) MADE that song. As a musician, it's hard to accept doing just the hook. EDIT:

Ayo bruh, kiss my.... I take pure offense to this statement. It ain't always about the check. Some people are just born to create art and they'll give it all they've got because that's what they do. It's hard to only give a partial effort, or to swallow your pride when someone asks for only a portion of what you feel you can bring to the table.
