He's probably making about 50mil this year including endorsements.

Wins first MVP and has just really started the prime of his career.

Does he reach his dream of being the first billion dollar sports figure?

Id say it is possible towards the end of his career, but Tiger would probably take it first.

I dont think you guys realize how hard it is to make $1 billion. The "$50 million" that OP predicts that LeBron makes this year does not take intoaccount 50% of those earnings going to the tax man. Even if he made $50 mill/yr in net, he'd have to invest that money super carefully and it'd take acouple of decades for LeBron to get to the $1 bill. mark.

I doubt LeBron will come close.

...that list has Lebron at 7 making justabout under 40 mill a year.

I know he'll increase that in 2010 but as for now Tiger has the edge

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but Tiger Woods will be the first to do so.

If Jordan played in todays league, he would've earned it a long time ago.

Yes.

Inflation + new Nike deal soon + 2 more massive contracts = he will get there if he is smart with his money.
