Well 0-9 was only 9 years, because 0 years is...well...0 years. You can't count that.

think of it this way. the year 1980 doesn't count as a part of the decade of the 70's, 2000 doesn't count as part of the 90's. get it? gotit? good

A decade is a period of ten years. The word is derived (via French) from the Late Latin decadem, accusative of decas, from Greek decas, from deca. The otherwords for spans of years also come from Latin: lustrum (5 years), century (100 years), millennium (1000 years). I feel you OP but you just got to really think about it. I've thought this too and went all the way back to year 0 lol. Like there was the first year thenthere was year 1? Don't trip man haha NT got you.
