A December trade to the Rangers fell apart, so Mike Lowell is in limbo as the Red Sox try to find him a new home.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globesays the Twins are a good fit and notes that Minnesota had interest inLowell in the past. If the Sox are willing to assume the bulk ofLowell's $12 million in salary, the veteran third baseman could beplaying at Target Field.
