I'll wait until there's an article out from a respected source which NO ONE (*ahem* the Stans) will be able to dispute.

Y'all gonna hurt a lot of feelings with these Soundscan #'s.

@ the Lil Wayne pics.

600k is respectable in today's music climate.

I'm more suprised @ Green Day's #'s; I thought they would have sold 250-300k first week.

not as much as i expected. his worst performance sales-wise. hopefully he puts more hype for his next album cuz this was a great album. but his global appealis still there. best first week in UK this year, and topped more than 20 countries, even france.

lil wayne topped 2 countries (US & canada).

eminem's total cd's sold> wayne's total cd's sold.

wayne wont ever top that.

but wayne does have a bigger fanbase now a days.

Like I said, thats 601k physical copies sold. Nothing to do with digital copies sold.

and no, regardless of what you googled, nielsen soundscan does not account for iTunes.

you have to manually add the totals from iTunes, Amazon, myspace, etc. to find out the real number.

And the only way to get those numbers is directly from the labels.

So did Wayne sell more physical copies than Eminem first week? Yes, but that was a year ago, and music consumption vastly transferred to digital since then soit's not an even comparison.

Either way, Eminem put out the best music since The Black Album

Music consumption has not vastly transferred online...its the same as last year...
Add that to the fact that wayne just didn't sell more...The N' sold 400 thousand copies more in a era where N's don't sell that much alltogether...
Not really a lose for em...cause I don't think he gives a *%**...but it is a LOSE to you delusional Stans who feel he is a god or some #@#!...
