Final Four Tix & Expenses

So my alma mater, WVU, made it to the final four and I really want to go, seeing as how this may be our best chance ever of winning the whole thing.

I've been looking on eBay and prices are ridic. I've also looked on stubhub, and as expected, those are more affordable (even if they are the nosebleed seats).

So my question to you NT is how much do you think the round trip would cost me (including transportation and rooming)?

Anyone else plan on going?

Just got the e-mail.

$2658 for two people by bus.

$3958 for two people by plane.

If I can get tickets to both sessions, I'll find a way to get there and a place to lay my head.

Congrats on your team making it to the Final Four. Most of the nosebleeds were from the general public sale a few months ago, face value was $360 for two sets of tickets to all the games in the worst seats (500-600 sections) and $380 for the semi-nosebleeds. People were paying $700+ for those before the brackets even came out. The lower levels will be allocated for the schools to sale to their boosters.

I wouldn't waste paying too much for the nosebleeds. Good to marginal seats for Colts games become horrible seats for basketball games as you can imagine. I also bet most airlines have jacked up their fares for next weekend.

I'll be at the games. Going to be a lot of stuff going on. The college 3-point/slam dunk competition and the senior all star game will be here too. Friday each team will have an open, free practice for 50 minutes.

thats not bad at all the Marriott Indianapolis is really nice this is going to be the best u can dind

listen to me carefully, i have been to 6 of the last 7 final fours. tickets are not hard to get if you do a little work. constantly check craigslist and call every team that made its ticket offices. find out when they are giving out their tickets. this is very important because if they give them out before they get to indy you might be able to find a deal from those who cant make it but paid for tickets.

FIND OUT THE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF THE TICKETS

when they are giving out tickets in INDY go up to the box office and say "tickets for...." they will look find nothing and you tell them that you talked to "ticket managers name and that he had tickets for you" and you might be able to score a few upper deck seats.

also, all the scalpers have to deliver the tickets to their clients a few days before the actual game so prices are highest at that point. the day before or the day is your best chance.

hell, we've once traded a hotel room for tickets

Thanks guys.

I'm going to try stubhub. I'll take the greyhound and room with one of my college friends.

Cuts down a lot on costs.

I went to the last final 4 in Indy. Stayed at the budget inn right outside downtown. tickets are very easy to come by for the championship game. saturday will be a little more difficult.

I went to the final four in 05 and 09 when UNC won it all.

In 05 we got tickets through a family friend. I'm not sure how much they were, but I would assume my pops paid face value for them.

Last year I won student lottery tickets that were horrible seats for like 20 bucks. Once we made it to the final game I purchased better seats through a dude on UNC's scout website Inside Carolina. They were really good seats about 45 rows up in the UNC section. The guy was originally selling them for $400 a piece, but gave me and my boy a deal because we were students so we got them for $300. Definitely thought it was worth it.

If I were you I would hit up Indianapolis craigslist, there's an NTer (WildKYcat) in S&T that has FF tickets as well that he is trying to sell so I would hit him up, or I would find West Virginia's scout or rivals website and see if anyone is selling tickets on their forums.

Congrats and good luck.
