Japan's Tabuse Seeking Another Shot At NBA
May 30, 2009 9:44 AM EST

Yuta Tabuse is leaving the Japan national men's basketball team for another shot at the NBA, according to the Associated Press.

Tabuse was training with the national team, but decided to leave and head to the United States after receiving an invitation to attend the Mavericks'camp next month.

"I got the news all of a sudden and am happy I was able to get another opportunity," Tabuse said at a press conference Saturday.

Tabuse is the future.

All you need is a shot, just ask...

Best of luck to him, but I honestly don't see him cracking a roster.

He's got to be closing in on 30 years old now, doesn't he?

If Kevin Willis can have a roster spot at 44, so can Tabuse.

It's a longshot, but I'm pulling for him.

Kevin Willis' NBA averages at age 44 > Yuta Tabuse's D-League averages at age 27

I liked that dude Wang Zhihi from China....dude needs to come back. Even though he's trash...I want to see him back in the NBA

Dude could nail the three.

Wang Zhizhi should be able to get a spot on the Warriors' roster. He can shoot the 3? Tall? Then, yes, Don Nelson is salivating. We could use a Kurzreplacement.

Yeah, Rukawa is probably somewhere along the lines of 37 or 38 by now...

Good luck to Yuta. Hopefully he fairs well in this league. I hope he makes the first day roster, just so I can use him in 2k10...

What is the likelihood of playing on the summer league team?

Not sure if it's the same region, but Dante x Galante x Tabuse?? I will be watching

He played for the W's Summer League team a couple of years back.

When Nelson wasn't coaching right? I'm sure things could change now.

^^^Yea, I think Wang was playing with W's summer league squad during Mussleman's tenure. It was during his drama with China and FIBA, if Im notmistaken.

lol Kevin Willis deserves more respect than that.. Dude could've been very good if he didn't have such ****** arms!

Anyways, good luck to Tabuse but I don't see it.

This cat is a blur on the court. I've seen him play in person several times in the LB summer league and when he played for a ABA or NBDL team I don'tknow which one it was.

Are the Mavs trying to compile the worst bench backcourt in basketball history?

Chucky Atkins and Tierre Brown are laughing.

JJ Barea > any back-up backcourt player on the Hornets.

You're probably better than any backup backcourt player on the Hornets, but you and little J.J. still suck. What's your point?
