You are painting vivid pictures.

My first year was wild.as.hell.
Grades were terrible but it was one of my best years.
Have fun, and study now and then-it will go by too quick.

I transferred from CC to college as well, and it was a little overwhelming at first having to readjust to a new school with new people.

My advice, find your rhythm by getting involved whether it's in a club, frat, etc. When you get put into groups from one of your classes, do your group studies outside of the school environment.

Lastly, if you're feeling uncomfortable, fake it till you make it

yeah i feel that the transition from a CC is going to be that hardest thing to adjust to.

Yeah you can, i'm dorming as a jr. Reason i did this was to meet new people for the first year and then move into my own apartment next year.

I lived in a dorm by myself for about a whole semester. Story goes I walk in after the 3rd day or so of classes and two dudes (in their 40s probably) dressed as students are talking to my roommate. I didn't know at the time but my roommate was moving weight like a catalog of @$%@. The plumber grabs me and sits me down on my chair and tells me to open up my backpack, I tell him no and he tells me he is a drug task force agent or whatever and showed proof. He finds my bottle, grinder, vics (prescription as well so I was good), and my chilm, and tells me he can get me with intent because I had another baggy in my desk. He told me not to tell the school that they came or he would have me put in jail. He lets me go and takes my roommate to their van downstairs, he went willingly, probably to roll on someone (he looked like a kid that had nothing to do with drugs at all). The first thing I did when he left the room was tell every single person I could possibly tell

I only saw my roommate a couple times after that. He dropped out, probably because he shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Well as a Freshman, you should go out of your way and be social.
It depends on what type of people you want to meet.
If you want to party more/meet more outgoing people, you should def hit up some parties during your first week.
If you want more studious people, go to those Freshman events haha.
If you want religious people, go to those religious events.
Etc.

But since you are going to be Junior, it might be different haha.
I lived with a Junior transfer student last year, and he didn't really care about his social life.
However, he met friends just by joining a bunch of clubs and going to classes.
I don't know if you should hit up parties because after like Freshman/Sophomore year, most of my friends stopped going to parties and just started hitting up the bars.
But I go to a city school, so my experiences might be different.
Also, what I noticed the first week was that most of the people who storm the parties are Freshmans.
As a Junior transfer student, I assume you are serious about your academic career, so you probably shouldn't hang out around the Freshmans.

But you can do those Freshman things too. It's just I am a Junior right now, and I am just speaking on what I think.
In my Freshman year, I lived by a Junior transfer student.
Like we thought it was awkward at first, because he legit looked older. And because we thought he might be an undercover cop lol.
But after a few times of hanging out with us, it was all cool.
Like he wanted to catch up on his college life and stuff, so he would do the things any Freshman would do haha.

But you are gonna love it!
Everyone I know that transfers from CC have the time of their lives when they get to campus.

Also, if your school's Greek life is good, you should maybe join a Fraternity.
I don't know if you're down with that because some people despise Fraternities, but I know some people join it as an easier way to meet friends/get connections/networking.

no wonder a lot of college grads are having a tough time getting a job these days

socializing is the #1 priority it seems

Keep your mind set on the ultimate task OP. You want to enjoy yourself while also succeeding in the classroom but don't get too caught up in the pleasures of social life. I don't know what you're majoring in or how your brain works, but if you have to, study frequently. At the same time, it will be tough to transition into a heavy course load while adjusting to a new school and also trying to fit in time for social activities. If the main thing you want to do though is have fun then good luck. It's all about balance.

Not sure what school you're going to, but you're lucky that you were able to find on campus housing as a Junior. It'll be even better if you'll be in an area with other students around your age. I'm in a similar situation as yours but the dorms that housed upperclassmen at my school were filled up quickly. I've lived in a dorm my Freshman year at a previous institution and did not want to be living in a community-style area with Freshman again as an Upperclassman. Going to be staying off-campus but I don't think it should be that bad.

@ INS, same thing would happen to me and I always had a lot of munchies to bring home

Go to as many parties as you can your first week. You'll meet so many people in your same position. I met some of my best friends.

Go to block parties, tabling events, homecoming games, etc. for lots of free stuff.

Definitely be friends with your RA. Luckily, I had become affiliated with mines when I went greek later (traditional). So many nights to remember, one time I had to carry her back to our dorms after the club

.

Don't be afraid to ask your floor mates and such to eat at the dining hall. You'll have companions to eat with and not worry about being a loner.

Find study buddies. Lots of them. They'll be some of your best homies later on too.

What? You're not playing it wrong. A rule is that you can't piss until you're finished anyway. Just man up and hold that stuff in. *pause*

First week of school, would catch my roommate beating off all the time. Went on his computer one day, saw tons of child porn. Moved out the next day, had to tell the housing office why and of course, it was passed on to the police. Dude wanted to be a pediatrician too

But yo, first week/year of college will be one of the best years of you're life. Smash all the freshman chicks you can, they'll be %!@%$% up every night and probably get straight ran through the entire year until they get a rep around campus or they catch something. Sophomore year they'll be library bookworms like nothing ever happened, so use them up while you can. Juniors and seniors mostly just go to bars for the most part. Don't tell anybody that you went to a community college and are transferring in unless you really want to. Girls will think you're broke and wack.

Bring your own weed and liq. bring enough to pass out cause they.will.be.thirsty.

Made around 2 stacks one and a half month in my freshman year. caught chlamydia too but enh thats not important
