How many of y'all are greeted by this first thing in the morning walking into work

FAM, this **** is driving me crazy. The only one who cares to have these damn lights on are my boss and this dude sits in an office where he would be entirely unaffected by the outside lights :smh:

But if I come in with the Ray Charles tints I would be doing the most

I walk into work with a pep in my step and the second these fluorescent lights hit me its like ive been taking those #NoSleep shirts seriously

Time machines aren't made for black people but if I had one the dude who coined homework and fluorescent lights would be the two people I'd kneecap ON SIGHT

Also whoever created the open office concept, **** was a terrible idea when it was conceived and its an even worse idea now. It SuPpOrTs CoLlAbOrAtIoN, yet I have headphones on, chick next to me has headphones on, dude across from me has headphones in, my boss in his office has headphones on... Just dumb man

I wanted to get this off my chest, thanks for attending

Im usually the 2nd one in to my area of the building but we have all nonverbally agreed that we dont want them all the way on. Some times someone random turns them on bright af but our team would fix it back to the level everyone tolerates. Theyre at about a 3/5 level of brightness

If i had it my way it would be 2/5 and sometimes (the summer) we rock with them off majority of the day. Usually when the older people arent in

That's the part I don't understand. Everyone in my office is a millennial and everyone but my boss prefers natural lighting over these flourescents with the exterior of our office being 85% glass.

We get more than enough sun into the office to illuminate it, yet for some reason dude is insistent on these soul-sucking lights being on around the entire office the second he steps in

I need to work on my programming skills to go remote :smh:

The lights in my corner of the office went out a month ago and it was perfect. People would come by my desk asking me were the dimmer switch was to get their lights like mine lol. Came to work yesterday and they replaced all the bulbs with new led bulbs. My desk feels like a f'n showroom floor now. It too damn bright.
I had the maintenance guy take two of the bulbs out of each light and it was still hella bright. I'm suffering over here. No privacy. I feel violated by all this office light.

I gotta get remote as well bruh.
I'm in a open concept office and nobody collaborates. Everybody has earbuds in.
Even the managers and executives.
People been in the office for decades and still figuring out what people do in other sections and still introducing themselves.

those bright *** lights probably help keep you awake

this is all speculation though.
im just basing this off my phillips hue lights where one setting is called energize and they are bright af. they really do work though...i use them every morning before the gym. they get my *** up

The lights is how they keep you in check in the office...studies been done on this, the truth about it is nefarious

Same thing with the lights they got in Casinos...they designed to keep you in there and simulate a never ending day

Getting blue blockers on my next glasses

I only keep half the lights on in my office. And they started letting us light candles so I’m good to go.

hue lights showed me a lot too, light color definitely effects you mentally and physically.

Fam they put me to sleep. I feel drained underneath them.

Using my coworkers as a case study, im not sure if that is legit. These lights are unanimously hated

Getting blue blockers on my next glasses

Wearing mines in the office rn. They only slightly help

Adverse health effects from excessive lighting or incorrect spectra can manifest in the form of headaches, fatigue, stress, sexual effects, increased risk of certain carcinomas, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disease. Some of these effects are under further study to understand the exact causes.

I have these in the kitchen & 1 of the bathrooms of an apartment I own & I really hate changing them when they burn out. I accidentally dropped one of the tubes years ago near a carpet & I swear I was finding pieces of it for the next year despite being OCD about vacuuming. anytime I see ppl working the graveyard shift under these lights I want to tell them I feel for them but bringing it up just seams like it would make it all the moar painful
