I learned mostly from Gordon Ramsay tutorial videos, but I had to fill in the blanks along the way with supplemental research.

A lot of the instructional resources can only go so far, though. Trial and error is ultimately the best teacher when it comes to cooking.

Lettuce serves its purpose in a lot of sandwiches. Adds crisp/freshness. Adding one leaf is absolutely pointless though. It's also stupid when you have a sandwich with way too much lettuce.

Cross section is mandatory for all food you can't see the inside of. Examples are steak, eggrolls, burritos, tamales, tacos, wontons, etc. You don't even have to cut it, just bite into it & show the filling.
