Would it be controversial to say Chicken and Waffles is an overrated combination?

Like if you had a choice between:

Chicken and Fries
Chicken and Mash Potatoes
Chicken and Mac n Cheese
Chicken and Coleslaw
Chicken and Waffles

Are you really gonna pick the waffles?

I've had plenty of chicken and waffles in my life, it's always sorta too sweet. Not what I'm looking for when I crave fried chicken.

for brunch it’s a no brainer but thats the only time i order it

Chicken and waffles is cool every once in a while. Not something I'd order just anywhere

Fried chicken is good with a sweet sauce or honey and obviously waffles are too

Too sweet?

You control the amount of liquid sugar put on the dish.

It's eaten way too infrequently to even matter if it is overrated or not.

Chicken and waffles is good for the novelty of a brunch or a special occasion. Chicken and waffles both pair better with many different combinations

Just gonna be some ham/run ham and some other fixings for this holiday season.

I like chicken and waffles but I barely eat it yearly.

Too sweet in the sense that it’s like eating a main and a dessert at the same time. More sweet than savoury.
