Nay just about right regarding the album.
Don't agree with the AZ hate tho.
Even if you don't think this album is whack it's pretty average. Inconceivable to call it classic.

Harlem's taste can never be called status quo...Dude knows his music, so I respect his opinion, but this album is a through and through classic to me. You can take the Massacre, I'll bump my AZ till the death.

#2 - even with all the fake thuggin there's no way in hellllllll that I AM is better than it was written
#3 - Lyrically, Nas was arguably the illest he's ever been on It Was Written, this was the last full album where you could say lyrically dude was far ahead of any of his peers, Illmatic being the first. The production and the fake thug !**! killed it, but Nas goes in.
