There's a new version, ummm, "online" that's in 16x9 and cleaned up... looks a lot better than the 4x3 DVD version from a few years ago... The best we're gonna get for now. 
 
Have not seen an episode in a while but when I re-watched the whole series again a couple months back I would say a very small percentage of the episodes have been cleaned up. Majority are still 4x3.

The unmentionable thing on the unmentionable place just showed up in the last few days... the series was originally shot in wide screen u believe...
 
^ I'm watching the 'new' version now... pic-quality definitely improved.  

Originally shot on film, so with this new widescreen format, I guess it's a remaster of some sort.  Not HD, but still much better.
