(I'll bold the good stuff....although I bolded a lot, it's still worth it to read the whole thing...some things I agree with and some I don't...but, I gurantee people will be talking about this...)

Thanks for posting. His Kobe analysis is dead-on. He's my favorite player to watch/follow in the NBA right now.

When I heard that we might have had a shot for gil I jumped for joy. I am telling you gil is that dude and I wish he would come. He seems to understand what being loyal is.

If Gilbert ever retires, networks need to get their hands on him ASAP for a position as a basketball analyst.

Gilbert always, somehow either crazy or sane, comes through with a good analysis on any situation. And hes right. Not many players argue the idea of playing with him AFTER spending some time on the court with him. You dont see Caron or Antwan complaining about shots. Gil knows he will get his, while putting his team in the best possible situation to win the game. Its that simple. He is right on point about the Kobe analysis.

I read every single word of his interview. Gilbert is dead on with his observations. I wish we still had him here in Golden State.
And I'd like to add that I miss season threads.

Man I'm sick of Glibert opening his mouth...He needs to focus on himself rather than everyone else. Kobe does have problems with the front office...and they do nothing to help him. I mean i think Gil is a funny dude and all but needs to mind his own business.I believe he was the one that said he would drop 50 on portland and was held in check by Udoka and jack to 9 points.

    So.......

    1) Washington has a better chance of getting out of the East than Cleveland? Well I guess Larry Hughes would rather play for a pretender than a contender? :smh: [IMG]

Yes but what is so bad with Gil opening his mouth in this situation? Hes just speaking the truth. The reason why the Bulls havent pulled the trigger on the trade is exactly what Gil said. Who wants to give up a whole nucleus of players for one player. Its going to be the exact same situation over again for Kobe, just in a different city. And then what next when he realizes that his team isnt winning any more games? Move to another city? Is that the only option for Kobe? Stick it through. LA is a huge market city. Its going to attract players. Everybody knows that. JKidd free agent next year? You put LA and Kobe together, and your going to see many players who want to come to LA. Its not the Laker front office thats having the problems in this situation. Kobe doesnt realize that hes going to get into the exact same situation he is in right now if he decides to jump ship to another team. That is why I would not trade anybody for Kobe.

Remember, this isnt about Gil and what he says on the court. We all know the 50 point comment was in fun. If he did it, great. If he didnt, then whatever. Its not like he is a horrible person for predicting something like that. He gives that much more life into a basketball association that is being lagged down by many things from the front office (David Stern). Im pretty sure Gil doesnt lose sleep at night over any of this stuff. He just adds fun to the NBA, making things that are off court much more exciting.

Like I said before, Gil is right on point with his analysis. Definately came through with the right idea on this topic. I agree with him completely.

and he was quoted previously, to be 'able' to play with bryant. that it is all mental being with him, and his psyche is strong enough to get around the mindgames..

    wishful thinking.

Gritty....who knows what would have happened if the Wizards didn't get hit with the injury bug during crucial moments of the season last year. Remember, the Wizards were playing some GREAT basketball leading up to the All-Star break, and even had the best record in the East. It's no secret that the Larry Hughes experiment in Cleveland has been a bust. There could be plenty of factors that play into why exactly that is, but fact of the matter, LH was more productive in Washington. It could be fore a number of reasons, but Gil was a big part of Larry getting that contract offer from the Cavs. Also, how many TRUE championship contenders are there in the East? A lot of people are jumping on the Celtics bandwagon, but they have yet to play a regular season game. Cavs have issues. Detroit is getting old. There is uncertainty in Chicago on whether or not the roster is going to be blown up to get Kobe. The Wizards have questions about defense. IMO, there is NO real contender for the championship who will come out of the East. There will be more parity, and better basketball, but the trophy will stay in the West. That being said, each of the teams that I mentioned above will have guys in the running for the MVP. Gil made some excellent points, but sometimes people don't like to hear the truth. Especially if it comes from a "goof" like Gil.
