[IMG]i am not a GPS person. i pretty much know how to get everywhere in thestate on new jersey and most of NY, but on ocassion i have used my girlfriend's GPS for places i never been to or somewhere that is hard to find that ibeen to like once. almost every single time the damn thing has sent me on a crazy mission around the world then finally makin it to my destination. atleast 2times it has totally failed me all together. 1st time on the way to flightclub NY (my 1st time going) the damn thing lost signal right in the lower part ofmanhatten (the part of the city that actually isnt grided) and it took me an additional 2 hours to make it there because thats when it got signal again. 2ndtime was yesterday on my way to Edison the dam thing died on me with no warning as soon as i got on the parkway. i had a car charger and the damn thing wouldntfunction while charged and when it died jus would charge point blank!!! does anyone else have a hate story about GPS'? and on a side note who curses attheir GPS? Nah, I appreciate mine to the fullest.

I used to avoid driving through DC before I got this thing. It even tells you to make a "Very sharp right turn" and such. Its awesome [IMG]

for flightclub...why didn't you just look up the address and use the normal means of using cross streets and building #s?
2 hrs is a bit much to be "lost" in the village.

personally...I don't use GPS b/c it oven gives you the longer way(I've used my sister's on occassion)...

well the thing that made it worse is that there was construction everywhere. mad streets closed off (including the one i needed to turn on right before gettinto flightclub) and its the one part of manhatten im not familiar with. and the particular flightclub i was goin to was like on a lil %@! side street u wouldnever see unless u were lookin for it (because there are two in NY) i didnt have much of a back up plan cuz i didnt think the gps was gonna bail on me. and ontop of that it was like around 2pm ona monday (massive traffic)

    word.
in europe (or holland anyways) EVERY STREET/AVE is a name. there is NO corrdination so if you dont know how to get there, you are using a map...which isretarded.
but in canada i can find any house/building using street/aves

I use a GPS only when I really have to. It is really annoying. I'm an old-fashioned guy just give me a map and I'll be good.

thats why u should never *completely* rely on electronic devices...
i always look at a map myself and have some kind of idea of which streets and exits i should be at
then use the gps and when i know its buggin out on me - i do a little common sense override
