But when he and Erislandy Lara werecaught trying to defect in Brazil back in 2007, they were brought back to Cuba. Lara successfully left the Island a few months later, but Guillermo jumped offthe boat in the last minute and was banned from any boxing activity, therefore finishing his amateur boxing career with a stunning 243-4 record. Finally, he left Cuba and arrived in Miami in February 2009."
