Gym Contracts Unappreciation

i just got mail saying that they are going to increase my monthly bill

"We've had to make the decision to raise monthly dues.."

24hr fitness ftmfl...has this happened to anyone

the price is still manageable but the fact that they can make a decision like this without even asking me..

is this happening to anyone else?
 
Ya it sucks....good thing with mine (Lifetime) is that you can drop at any time with one month notice.

Let me guess they went with the "rising costs" or new equipment angle. Some of that is valid sometimes but typically not.

I read an article somewhere the other day discussing about all the things you are paying for with a bigger gym.....when the average paying member uses about20% of the things in these gyms. Things to ponder.

I love my 24 deal.

800 bucks for a 3 year contract and 20 dollars every YEAR afterwards.

So far, I've paid 840 bucks for 5 years.
 
bastich...thats pretty sick

my funds aren't nice enough to buy a 3year contract tho

i pay about $22 a month, any gym

they have remodeled the gym, painted it...but no new equipment.

they said its part of the contract....smh

Gym sales men, Car Sales men, Cell phone Sales men are evil
 
Local gym is like 575 for 2 years.

My membership expires in 9 days smh.
 
i work at the Y...we dont do contracts...just pay a joining fee $35 for singles...$60 for couple...monthly fee of $27 singles and $38 couple...seniors are $21

im at ballys 8 bucks a month. no contract.

Powerhouse in Chatsworth.

It was an older rate that I got about 5 years ago. I believe it's a bit more now... not sure how much though.

The equipment is fine for me, not the best, which I had some other equipment, since all they have is very basic weights (dumbells) besides the machines. Butgood enough. Im about to bring my own ez curl bar there...

This is a good deal? Me and my friends paid $500 for 3 yrs, plus $50 per yr after. I realize the costs are even after 10 years and the other deal will bebetter for the distant future, but it's hard to forsee where you will be over 10 years from now.

That was the rate before I signed up...luckily I waited around Christmas time.

$450 for 3 years (150 a year, 150/12 a month), $29 a year after that.
