Have anyone here tried Moonshine?

I just heard about this drink last week and I want to know why it is illegal. Also, have anyone actually tried it?

i think it's only illegal bc it's homemade and can't be taxed, there's some over the counter moonshine at the liquor behind my apartments, i don't think it compares to the real thing but i did hear it messes you up pretty bad.

I believe my uncle has. I think it's illegal because it can't be taxed, just like weeds.

Real country moonshine is like 190 proof. It can start a car.

Closest in a store is prolly everclear. I had moonshine with berries at the bottom once.
Never again.

I live in the sticks of western north carolina and moonshine around here varies. Some stuff is legit, some is bathtub water that will make you sick. And then there is the store stuff that says "moonshine" but its just extra boozy liquor. But as some have said before, Moonshine is illegal because they do not pay state/federal alcohol taxes. It is also very strong. A few shots of real moonshine will leave you feeling amazing the first 45 minutes, after that you don't know how you got so drunk, and at last, how did you end up with no clothes on laying on the ground covering your man parts with the dogs water bowl.

My old boss makes it that apple pie , it was soo smooth, I **** around and be about 3 shots in, and be completely wasted and didn't eem know it



You can make "fake" shine with golden grain , a cinnamon stick, and apple juice after a couple of weeks it'll have the flavor and the kick

In NC you can get the authentic **** in the mountains...or cross over to Tennessee. 

I don't know how that mass produced **** works out...can't be the same. 

Growing up I use to hear tales of people going blind off of moonshine...I agree with am1 though...a city ***** ain't built to drink moonshine. 

My brother lives in Hickory and dudes drink that **** straight around there...

I once was at a party playing beer pong. I was drinking liq/beer pretty regularly when we decided the losers of the next round had to take a shot. My partner and I lost, and me being very proud of my tolerance took the losers shot with little hesitation. Unfortunately for me, it was moonshine, and my first encounter with it.

I'll just say my night was pretty much over in as little as 5 minutes later

I go to school in Southern VA and it's fairly easy to get your hands on. It's strong as hell, but it definitely gets the job done. Being friends with rednecks, I've had my share of it but will never have more than two shots. The guy who did my tattoos had some grapes that had been soaking in them, those were cool.

When their making it, you can literally smell it in the air at my school

Have a I tried it,yes and I don't even drink at all.

Back in the late 1960's until about the mid 1990's my family has been making and taking the stuff from the south to places like Newyork,Chicago.Detroit,Milwaukee just to name a few.I wasn't always around it but I was around it enough to grow to hate the strong smell of it.But that business died when every other corner had a liquor store on it and the small corner stores started selling cheap beer,liqour,legally and illegally.I can talk about it now but people don't want to get that wasted and besides they like the look and the prestige of the bottle now to so.
