I have a 42' LG plasma tv and somehow, out of nowhere, all 3 of my HDMI ports have been messing up when being used. The screen will... 'flash' I guess would be the easiest way to describe it for a split second, and then the sound will go out. To get it back I have to turn down or turn up the volume then it'll last just a few minutes before doing it again. If the tv is out of warranty how much am I looking at to getting this fixed? It's quite annoying. So annoying in having to turn the volume up and down that I've gone back to using AV cables, . Has anyone heard of this before?
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I've been through 3 different brands. All 3 cords in all 3 slots can't be faulty.
They said they wont have any available technicians to come out and look at it this coming week. I'm wondering if having them come and look at it/fix it will be super expensive, or should I just find another repair place to fix it.
what do you have connected to the set via hdmi? Cable/satellite converter, game system, DVD player? I work for a cable company and have replaced quite a few converters due to bad HDMI ports. I have a Pioneer plasma, a Scientific Atlanta HD DVR converter and an Xbox 360 both using HDMI cables from monoprice.com. Every once in a while, the audio cuts out every few seconds on an HD channel or goes out completely, and I have to switch to a standard digital channel, then back to the HD channel to restore audio. Never had a problem with my 360.
