Northridge mall is the most decent mall near Van Nuys

the outlets are wack as hell. van nuys is in the san fernando valley aka the porn capital of the world. ain't nothing really out there.

you gotta go over the hill to the beverly center/ melrose.

santa monica 3rd st promenade is nice as well which is down the street to venice beach.

Topanga Mall is pretty close to Van Nuys and it's a pretty good mall, it's pretty huge too. They have a Nordstrom and Burberry store. Only one shoe store though, a FootLocker, so if that's what your after go somewhere else.

If you're lookin' for a nice mall, Topanga Canyon Mall and Northridge Mall...

If you're looking for sneaker spots, the mall should be the last place to look.
