HELP Transferring A Car Loan Vol. taking over someone else's payments

Alright I know someone who is looking for someone to take over their loan on a car, they owe $2300 left on the vehicle, the owner is going into the millitary thats why they are transferring the loan. My question is has anyone ever done this? Will I have to make a down payment?

I know the bank will have to approve my credit, and that I will have to take out a loan myself to pay theirs, then it will be in my name.

Any tips on how to get this done?

Nah its not a craigslist scam im not that gullable,lol, Its not a lease, i know how those work.
