HELP WITH IPOD TOUCH FIRST GEN

i put my ipod on sleep mode with the button on top, now it wont turn on. i connected to my computer and it wont show up also and it did have full battery.anyone know what is wrong with it. thanks

no display at all when i try to turn it back on or connect it to the computer and it is not turned off

hold both the top and home button for 30 secs
wait 5 secs, then turn it on.
