twitter is good for laughs. Randomly saw one girl tweeting she won't be a guinea pig and is proud to be unvaccinated. Says she can write a book with all the facts she knows and the truth will eventually come out or she'll die because of covid.

That's not what he's saying.
What he's saying is that the Spanish flu virus infected and killed so many people that it couldn't jump as easily from host to host as it could when there were 50 million more living humans (at the time, the global population was a little more than 1 billion by the way).
This is exactly why we contact trace and quarantine infected people at the beginning of an outbreak: to give the virus less potential hosts before **** gets out of hand.
It's not magic; it's observation (look! People in a cluster catch the disease easily), hypothesis (imagine we keep the sick away from the healthy. What would happen?), testing (let's isolate the infected and count the new cases of sickness), conclusion (disease disappeared; therefore quarantine works).

Same folks will ask "how come they don't tell you how to prevent..." which they clearly do. I don't get it, same covid, same start date, let's trust things treated with less urgency, funding, resources and research (some no research) more. You figure if you were approaching things with logic that would occur to you.

Update: my prediction is coming to fruition. The September 27th deadline is seeing some resistance and may be pushed back, but a lot of the loud-mouthed nurses are having a change of heart. 3 of the 5 on my unit have scheduled their first dose.My job finally shot down all of the nurses trying to cite blatantly false religious exemptions to not get vaccinated. Now the only exemption you can cite is a legitimate medical one.
They're all talking about what they're gonna do next month when they're no longer allowed to work, but I honestly believe 95% of them are all talk. They have families, mortgages, and bills to pay. I think they're gonna sober up in the next 3 weeks, realize this isn't the hill they wanna die on, and begrudgingly get the first dose in the 11th hour.
Either way, I'm here for it.
