HOW DO I PUT MUSIC ON MY IPOD????..VOL. IM A NOOB

I have a 80 gb classic..
I looked it up online and its not working for me..maybe yall can help me out?

3. drag and drop songs from iTunes.

Do you guys actually pay $1.00/song? Ive been thinking of buying an ipod, but I cant bring my self to pay $1.00/song. So for the time being im still THAT guy walking around with a Sony walkman...SMH
