I must not be up on the trends......since when did "stacks" become "racks"?

or do i have it all wrong? Is this a regional term? Someone who listens to way too much rap music please inform me on this...
 
Racks is a west coast term particularly Cali , ppl been saying racks forever over here
 
i stay in LA and im not sure when dudes started using "racks" but now everybody over here is using it
 
here in dc rack means [a whole lot of something] ex: i have a rack of dollar bills or he got a whole rack of shoes

We say stacks or bands now. Bands=rubberbands.
