I have the slim and the disk just stopped spinning out of nowhere.
I wasjust playing it 15 minutes ago too.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any fixes? I have the slim if it matters

Mine died in May. I believe the mod chip was wearing out the laser. Every time I insert a DVD game or a DVD, it would give me a "please insert disc"message. PS1 games work however.
Oh well, buy a ps3.
