I was arrested but charges were dropped, how will this affect me getting hired?

I was arrested for a misdemeanor assault, but the charges were dropped. Other than that I have no record. Will still be able to get retail jobs? Any Nt'erwith similar situation care to share how you did or didn't get hired because of it?
