I'm from New York and have always been in the hood. I don't think my brother lives in the hood. So, this is gonna be weird for me. I hope I'm feeling this place man... because I'm buying a plane ticket and leaving and the price is od!

it's the hood, as in miserable people

not as in, bodegas on every corner and actually things to do.

I really really really feel sorry for you if you don't get a car soon.

Not anymore. The current governor shot it down.

You need a car. Get used to it being real quiet as well. Also in my experience 90% of your neighbors are some type of hispanic.

Man I ain't tryna be bored!!! I'm only moving because of my brother and I stay in a shelter right now but I've still been getting things finished. Like, he has a car ... It's where he's from it basically all caters to him . I'm just saving up money and tryna get back in school. I'm 27 and he's 20 and we live totally different lives , I know for a fact. I'm really from nyc. I'm just tight about spending this money in the plane ticket and feel like its wack out there

I'm HERE ... any suggestions? I"m about to pass out from boredom... I also was thinking about going back to Albany, New York already but because of housing.

woah this post is old... how have you been since the last time you posted? or did you just get there

out of all the L's florida keeps taking
which i believe surpassed ohio

So if I go back to Albany, NY that wouldn't be a problem... what mcdonalds fiasco?! I haven't heard of it.

oh okay.... I am not to well versed in florida per se outside of the tourist thing. I am from NYC like yourself and live in queens but i spend a lot of time in Latham and as you know there is not that much going down in albany

true.. i know albany like the back of my hand. there's not too much going down anywhere. there's nothing to do anywhere here. not that im expecting anything too big but i am looking forward to something miniature.

OP, just dont be a "fake up north *****"..

Dont be reppin NYC when you know you from Nyack

I went down to Orlando last Fall for a weekend to play golf with some co-workers. We played in the Ritz-Carlton and Walt Disney World resorts.

Aside from the Disney area and a ton of places to play golf--I can't see anything else to do there. Most of the locals are either from South America or back up in New York

I wouldn't move down there personally unless I had some sort of opportunity waiting for me that would far surpass my living conditions at the moment.

OP, if you're just hanging out down there and not working in some sort of job that has incredible potential professional growth (most likely not) then i'd get out of FL as fast as I could. There's not much to do down there and the job outlook isn't so crazy.

If you don't want to move back to NYC or can't afford the rent, then i'd suggest you move to the DMV area. There's supposedly a ton of jobs out there and housing is supposed to be affordable.

Depends where you are in Orlando. Im from South Fl but from what I know from Orlando is it seems to be split into theme parks, suburbs and college. Idk where you are but its a big city and you'd need a car. UCF seems to always have something poppin

Orlando has TONS of adult sports leagues to take advantage of (soccer, bball, volleyball, softball, and kickball, etc - lots of beer associated sports that are basically just a good way to meet people). Downtown Orlando is the cities best kept secret. Bars pop off Thursday night - Sunday night, and the womenz, the womenz are slammin.

Get on POF and start meeting some of these easy Florida birds. Let them show you around.
