Yep, it's all downhill from here.

In about 4-5 years he'll have patchy balding and he'll be a shell of his former self.

I always knew his skillset would age poorly, dude relies too much on his athleticism and just isn't the shooter or post player that he needs to be to play well into his twilight.

    lol WHAT?

Kobe is looking damned good for his age right now, HIGHLY doubt Bron will look like Kobe now when he's his age or Jordan with the Wizards at 38/39.

Hell Kobe's numbers are comparable to Bron RIGHT NOW. Sure Bron is more efficient but their numbers are very similar.

^ Kobe is not looking good for his age. He's looking terrible for ANY age.

Tim Duncan... now he's playing great for his age.

Bro when you have the usage rate he does and no players he trust to produce you're going to be inefficient.

Terrible? Bruh. He's still better than 95% of the league.

    Get on with that BS.

Stop it, because kobe was not inefficient in 06 when he didnt trust his teammates

Hes beyond washed & not even top 5 at his position, give any avg sg 21 shots a game & hes giving you similar numbers

Lebron's greatest strength has been his IQ not his athleticism. Granted it helps pairing his IQ with being the biggest freak of nature the league has ever seen, but I still see him playing efficient basketball down the road. He might not put up scoring numbers like the other greats at an old age, but IQ and efficiency will translate to more W's than empty stats. Jason Kidd on the Mavs comes to mind.

    Boy stahp.....

His athleticism is his single greatest asset, period.

Dude needs a team built a certain way for him to be effective. IE he needs a stretch 4 & a scoring guard. If his IQ was that crazy he'd be able to adjust and play with different kinds of team builds.

Ya'll dudes need to call it like it is. When his athleticism leaves him his numbers will go down drastically.

    No way ....
I agree with you sneakerheathen... have thought all along he wouldn't be all that effective as he got older...
He relied on strength and atleticism more then anything else...

    his passing abilities.
Will continue to help him but u overrating his IQ...

There's no doubt Kobe has regressed, I mean come on 06?

The problem is that he HAS to take that many shots a game. Again his usage rate is the problem. Put the right guys around him, and he wouldn't have to jack up so many shots.

And another thing, why do LeBron's star teammates ALWAYS see their numbers decrease to taylor fit their play to LeBron's needs?

Oh look, Bron leaves and Bosh and Wade both see their numbers go up.

Oh look, Bron returns to Cleveland and Love sees a drastic decrease in output while Kyrie's growth as a player has hit a ceiling as he's putting up carbon copy numbers to last years.

Bron does NOT make his teammates better. Yes he's a good passer and floor general, but if his teammates don't adhere to a very specific and rigid style of play FOR LEBRON they will lose. PERIOD. HELL, the Cavs are arguably a better team WITHOUT HIM AND THAT'S NOT HYPERBOLE.

These are undeniable facts. What happens when he's no longer able to do the things he's accustomed to do? What happens when he cannot play the brand of ball that has proven to be the ONLY way he can win?

What you want me to believe that a LeBron that will eventually be reduced to a glorified PG is going to be successful as he was in his 20s?

I'm not saying he's going to fall off a cliff anytime soon, but I do NOT see him being effective in his mid 30s. I'm sorry, I just don't see it.

:smh: you do know its only one basketball & his star teammates cant take the same amount of shots as they did

I thought this was common knowledge & you just said if kobe had better teammates he would take less shots

    You cant troll & contradict

Dude that rebuttal doesn't even make sense.

It's not a contradiction at all. Kobe never forced anyone to tailor their game to fit his. Kobe never made anyone else take less shots, if you ******* suck like Jeremy Lin (though he's been better lately) you're not going to be trusted.

Notice how Nick Young doesn't have this problem. Or even Ed Davis as of late. If you can produce Kobe will ball with you, you will get your shots if you continue to make them, if not it's hero ball.

LeBron NEEDS the team to be built a certain way.

    MAJOR DIFFERENCE. Be real bruh.

He needs his team built a certain way? Thats that skip bayless logic

No coach is gonna have d wade or bosh be the #1 option over lebron, & he got 2 rings out of it so obviously it worked

Lebron spent 7 years on the Cavs adjusting to wave after wave of trash.

Obviously when you put 3 stars on one team they wont be allowed to put up the same numbers than when they're alone. That's not to say they weren't playing better, they went to 4 finals in a row.

    08-09 Cavs

    66 wins

    Daniel Gibson
    J.J. Hickson
    Zydrunas Ilgauskas
    Darnell Jackson
    LeBron James
    Trey Johnson
    Tarence Kinsey
    Sasha Pavlovic
    Joe Smith
    Wally Szczerbiak
    Anderson Varejao
    Ben Wallace
    Delonte West
    Jawad Williams
    Mo Williams
    Lorenzen Wright

Im sure Lebron had nothing to do with Mo Williams being an All-Star. How can you say that roster would win 66 times without James making his teammates better?

    09-10 Cavs 61 Wins

Im sure a washed up Antwan Jamison was the stretch 4 he needed to produce that many wins for the second year in a row.

How can you say James didnt take the worst supporting cast we've ever seen to the 07 finals without making his teammates better. How can you say a 61 win Cavs team with the same roster won 19 games the year Lebron left if he wasnt making his teammates beter. How can you say Boobie Gibson falling off the face of the earth the second James left cleveland had nothing to do with James making him better.

What he does best is the exact opposite of what you said - he makes his teammates better. It's always been because of his IQ and extremely efficient level of playing team basketball. He doesnt win games by dunking on someone every trip down the court.

As much of a freak Lebron is, the entire league is filled with elite athleticism. Athleticism alone doesn't cut it in the NBA. It's surely not the sole reason one can be seen as the greatest player in the world.

    Bruh really?

Mo has always been a capable scorer and a decent facilitator.

Bron had Zydrunas Ilgauskas who was a very good center in his own right.

And NONE of those guys you listed necessarily played better with Bron.

On the contrary I look at those rosters and I see Mike Brown and the Cavs trying to piece a team together to fit Bron, and to an extent they were successful. A lot of 3 PT shooters and guys who can stretch the floor and create space for Bron to play his Iso game.

He didn't make those guys better, they just fit the system. Dude is the NBA's version of a system QB.

If you're going to begin with defending Mo Williams and finish with the system QB argument, which is separate and equally as bad as the one we are currently having, then I just cant do this.

Now you're just convoluting my argument instead of actually defending yours.

One situation =/= the other. Mike Brown was never right for the Lakers job.

Stop nitpicking and actually make a valid counterargument son.

I don't think lebron needs a team to be built a certain way. If a team has the best player then that player is going to be the man and everyone has to adjust. Just like Kobe, he's still the man with the Lakers right now and everyone has to adjust. That's partially why there was some friction with Kobe and Shaq, because they were both great players playing together. Kobe is not going to force anyone to play a certain way, he's just going to continue to play his way and if you help then great, if not then that's fine. He's playing hero ball but the same could be said of lebron if you look at numbers. Lebron's teammates see drops in numbers (wade, Bosh) and once he leaves, their production goes up. It's more about winning for these dudes than individual numbers. They adjust their game to the best man on the team to win as much as possible. Again, there's only one ball and all stars on one team are going to see drops on a team with several all stars. People have to make sacrifices in order to win. As far as lebron declining, from a statsheet it may look that way but he's still one of the best well rounded players in the league right now and probably will continue to be for several years until his abilities really decline.
