it's just part of the city's culture, along with Northface rain coats and Subaru's
. At the grocery store they charge an extra 10 cents for plastic or paper bags. Overall our city is probably the cleanest major city in the USA. That's part of the reason my wife doesn't like NYC / Miami there's trash everywhere.

I thought it was just a coincidence when I saw hundreds of Subarus every day while I was in Seattle for a weekend I like that city a lot. It's a lot like pre entitlted techies and trust fund kid SF in many ways
