    The 2017 nominees:

Tiger Woods – Another incident for Tiger in 2017, arrested at 3 AM after being found asleep in his car which was stopped in a traffic lane. He is currently under probation and is subject to regular drug tests and also not allowed to drink for a year. To add insult to injury, Tiger has only golfed in one PGA event in the last two years.

Rick Pitino and the NCAA – We lumped the two together with the most recent recruit payment scandal, but Coach P has the honor of being the first and so far only head coach to be canned in the current scandal (although others who’ve recently been indicted would probably rather trade spots with Rick). Two bonus points are also earned here: 1) To the NCAA for still operating like it is 1940 with heads buried in the sand, and 2) To Coach Pitino for still claiming he had absolutely no knowledge of any illegal recruiting tactics that went on, just like he had no knowledge of stripper-gate back in 2015. We leave you here with the infamous quote Pitino gave to Louisville boosters a few years ago about the control he wields on campus: “If one of my players has a beer in Louisville, I know about it.”

Jon Jones UFC headliner had another doping violation after winning at UFC 2014. Jones was stripped of his light heavyweight belt for a third time – no other UFC fighter has been stripped more than once.

Roger Goodell – Another year of the commissioner and his rulings all over the news. Suspensions, ratings, concussions, anthems, Jerry Jones, yada yada.

Phil Jackson – Complete and utter fiasco in New York with him "mutually parting ways" with the team this summer. Has been off the radar for a few months but we haven't forgotten this mess. Kudos for drafting Porzingis and also collecting a reported $60 million from James Dolan.

NFL owners – Sure they always get the last laugh (and last dollar), but enough has not gone right this past year that we need to acknowledge it. Blackballing, "inmates" quotes, and trying to pretend (and photo op!) for 48 hours that they sided with their players for kneeling – which was quite possibly our most entertaining moment of 2017. Who will ever forget the Jerry Jones pose? Now currently depending on what you want to believe they are fighting with each other over Roger Goodell, or it is actually Jerry Jones vs. 31.

    Cleveland Browns – 4-43 since November 30, 2014.

    U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team
    – Missed out on the upcoming 2018 World Cup. Enough said.

ESPN – Close to being left off this list for the first time ever despite another year of gaffes and hot takes. The committee reversed course when observing the disturbing and often sad and pathetic placement of all things Lavar Ball and the Ball family in front of our faces 24 hours a day. Yes, FS1 is just as much to blame, but memo to ESPN – we thought the Tebow coverage could never be topped. You are dangerously close here.

Donald Trump – Inserted himself into enough sports-related issues that a nomination was needed. The committee has no problem giving him the Turkey of the Year award here.

    Trump, easy.

Biggest joke in US history. Embarrassing clown show every day with his racist, inaccurate, pathetic tweets.

To be remembered as a "president" such as Abe Lincoln or JFK......

I wish I was on NT back in 2003 and 2004 to make fun of all the clowns who voted for the GOAT.

    Voted for Trump.

He and Jerry Jones should've been a combo deal.
