Easily the most un-biased, and enjoyable writer in the sports world. This article is good but comes nowhere near his article on the Thompson family, and the mockery that was the All Star game.

DK- you are right... he tells it straight. He is public enemy number one with our so-called "social action" organizations... esp after he called Sharpton and Jessie terrorists... lol

Whitlock is cool, I enjoy a lot of his writings He is also a petty and arrogant S.O.B. Word to Scoop Jackson and espn.com.

I was referring more to other writings that have come out in the last couple of weeks (Whitlock's take actually makes some sense unlike say...Courtland Milloy's), I personally don't have a position on whether he should be allowed back in because honestly I have no idea what rules the NFL already have in place for criminal violations (though I doubt they have a specific dogfighting clause haha) but I would hope they would follow what they already have in place.
THAT WAS A PIMP SCHOOL MAN!

I dont like Jason Whitlock BECAUSE of his article about all-star game...I'll read this article though
"They say when you play with skill, good luck will happen"

Did you read some the reactions to the article.

Man, and I thought Niketalk was bad.

Wow.

Dream Team of MD/DC/VA - TRUTH hurts, doesn't it?

...Rock did u read that article? He AIRED out Wilbon and but Ronnie Thompson on blast....that was a messy situation...maybe later on I'll post it up over in S&T....

I just read that article about Thompson. Damn, he must have been listening to 'Ether' when he was writing that, lol. But yeah, as an aspiring Black journalist myself, I like Whitlock's writings because he doesn't always run to racism or trying to prove how down he is. He seems like a guy that is paid to speak his mind and he does that, he speaks HIS voice. Not the voice his employer wants him to speak, not the voice that will get him fans, but just what he wants. And of course thats going to be controversial but so be it...On another note, I simply can't stand Scoop Jackson...

Rudo, I wrote that.

His arrogance is the reason he is no longer on espn.com. He thought he should have been more prominently featured after the death of one of his idols, Ralph Wiley. so when it didn't happen, he went on a rampage and starting throwing the other contributors under the bus and questioned why they were even being printed.

Another example: See his comments on writing about football at the beginning of the Thompson article.

Scotch excuse Rudo, in old age his memory has began to slip.

I can appreciate his honesty on Subjects.. especially callin the Pastors out on Imus and all.
As far as the All Star game..

He was pretty on point if you were there. Brotha's EVERYWHERE. ...just hanging out with no place to go except back to their hotel rooms.

It was crazy.. people literally hangin out in Casino's with NO intentions of Gambling just whisteling at the women as they walk by...and lookin at white folks faces in Horror..

I was actually a Journalism Minor at UMD.. but back then working for the Diamond Back, you couldn't make the money Journalists make these days... Word to Michael Smith..

He reminds me alot of myself..and he seems to not let ESPN control how he puts out information.. altho he does try to act overly cool at times.. but the guy is only 26 or 27 I think.. So I might be a lil cocky if I was on TV all the time too if I were him...

Just look to find me at some Cavs games this year though... and Portland joints too... lol
