He's given his answer, whether or not people believe him. Stern needs to be more in control as the commissioner of the league and should not respond like that, but that not only questions his integrity as a commissioner but also the legitimacy of the entire league, and he's probably defensive of that.

Im a Rome dude but nice trolling there.
This year's "lottery was rigged" storyline was pathetic. And it took away from possible legit years someone could hit Stern with questions about.
Sad to see Rome following these clowns and sticking with flinging crap against the wall to get twitter attention with the teenagers.
