Im happy for KAWS but I really wish this would've been an SB instead of a Jordan 4, Couldn't agree more if whats pictured is the actual shoe. In all honesty I would've prefered a Nike SB but they should cancel that "Royalty" pair that drops next month because they look way too similar. Unless the KAWS 4 looks totally different than what's pictured
PO said there were 4 pairs made...The pair chosen for release will be Grey colorway...The pair in the thread here is likely one of the other 3 pairs that didn't get "chosen"...
as much as I want to get excited with this collaboration, I really can't. will be another limited release that won't be easy to purchase.
Wow hoping to complete the set! Funny no one has mentioned any of his prints? That's where it really all started along with the first Vinyl figure that was scooped up by Japanese collectors and Toy Tokios owner. I have a few Bus Stop Ad's that are signed and numbered from 97.... The red KawsBob prints go for $6K-$8K along with the Yellow, Black on Black and then Glass Smile aka Paper Smile that was released in ATL at the Museum of High Art. Cost on the yellow was $800 plus NYC sales tax. At the time my wife said I was crazy for spending $800 on print lol! Dirty Jersey represent!!!! Then the toys are insane! Sucks for fans who've been down since day one as his last print at art basel was $18K at Miami Art Basel :x 20 years of hard work in the studio has really paid off for Brian Donnelly! Congrats! Just in the right place at the right time..... I own one small canvas that I took a mortgage out on the house to acquire back in 04 then the two 4 footers in the office I'll pay top dollar for all size 11.5 as this only comes along once in a blue moon! Not only will sneaker heads be going for this but all of kaws fan base within the art and vinyl toy world. If the Open Edition Companion was a pain to get then these will surely be a nightmare. Even his uniqlo collection was kind of a nightmare
Uniqlo restocked the KAWS collection like 4 times. It DID sell out quick the first time it dropped though. I was able to get a consolation prize AND what I had my eye on from that drop.
I wonder how many Open Editions they sold because I was able to get 2 and that was hours after they released. Either way you're right with two fan bases these will be tough to get....
He is pretty mainstream now so yes I expect these will sell out very fast and anyone lucky enough to get them will able to command good money if they resell them. If art galleries get on the bandwagon the prices will only continue to rise.
They sold out at the The Modern FW and sold out of the pre-orders at MoMA. I was fortunate enough to get one set of companions from FW but was disappointed in the size as compared to the OG's. Still great pieces! definitely looking forward to anything Kaws puts out.

KAWS is always minimal it'll probably be branded in the heeltab or the tongue. Outsole and maybe insole
