Legal Question Help!

Yesterday me and my friend were on a jetski, well it flipped on started to fill up with water. We couldn't get it to start because it was flooded so weasked some people for help. Well they couldn't help either so we called the police/coast guard. Well after few failures, they had us board the police boat.While we were on the got us in trouble for Minor In Possession! Just for asking them for help.

Well I blew a .04, my friend blew a.18. The thing is, the never gave us a citation or anything.. just a verbal "citation" I guess. No papers,nothing. Do you think we will still get in trouble? I am so confused. Any help appreciated.

edit* they towed our jetski (which is my friends) and it costs 650.00 plus 60/day to get it out. Ridiculous.

From the registration on the jetski, they may be able to issue a real citation to the owner--then you're friend could sing like a bird and screw you, too.Also, if they got your information but didn't give you a citation at that point, they may just send it to you in the mail.

Well we got info to get the ski out of the impound but that was it. I really hope they wouldn't mail us a citation.

You're straight. Why would they mail something to you in the mail about a DUI (or whatever its called when u drive a jetski drunk) when they could havejust arrested you right there? When you get pulled over for a DUI they don't tow your vehicle and sent you a citation, they tow your @#%* then arrest you.Maybe they didn't wanna do the paper work and let you off easy

It definitely wasn't a dui (bui on water) because we couldn't even get the damn thing to start. If anything it was a minor in consumption.

I'd say you're good then. Probably have to go to an hour long class to clear up that minor in possesion

Hopefully, I just don't know what to think since they didn't issue anything on site.
