You really think Houston is going to get a young all star caliber player for Tmac?

The only way they would ever get that is if they played him enough minutes to show he is worth it, which isn't going to happen since he is done playing as a Rocket. Whatever happens, I hope to see McGrady start putting up big numbers wherever he ends up.
I'm sayin'. You are not getting a young all star player for T-Mac

. I don't care if he does have 23 mill coming off the books, any team doingthat is stupid. The only young "All Star" that would get traded for T-Mac right is Moe Williams

ANYWAY, 1.OP why do you sound surprised?? 2.does Tmac get credit for that 22win streak? Was he even playing for most of it?? hm...thought that was Yao'steam. 3. Houston ruined his trade value?? After that stunt he pulled last yeat?! Maaaan, please you think Rockets just gonna give him all these minutes sincehe knows he's now in a contract year and trying hard again. He mustve had VC advising him last year...

Uhh what? Its not like T-Mac was some dude that went trigger happy off the court now. The Rockets will try to trade dude, but to say they won't buy him out after the trade deadline is crazy. T-Mac probably will not mesh with this current Rockets team, but he did a lot for the Rockets since his trade from the Magic. Rick Adelman might not like him now, but Morey should be better than that to just stash T-Mac away and waste any chance of him contributing on another team that he can help or at least have a chance to show the league he can still play so he could get a contract next year.
The Rockets, according to sources with knowledge of the team's thinking, refuse to consider buying out the remainder of McGrady's $23.2 million expiring contract, which would enable him to become a free agent.

One source said that the Rockets' anti-buyout stance is so deeply rooted that they plan to keep him on the payroll even if a deal can't be struck before the trading deadline.

I don't see a trade going down honestly. Rockets want a young star or more ecs. No one is going to give up any one of value for tmac. They should just keephim on the bench and have that 23m come off the books and try and make a push to sign bosh or boozer. They need a good big.

I don't see this guy getting traded...yeah he's got an expiring contract but 23mil is a lot to swallow for any team.

What people don't realize is the Rockets are willing to tack on a contract in a potential deal.

If a team wants to clear up room for the 2010 FA bonanza, McGrady's contract is as good and as helpful as you're going to get. For example, the Knickswant to get under as much as they can. How? Getting rid of Jeffries and/or Curry. Problem is, who's willing to tack on their contract? The Rockets wouldthink about it. ...if they included somebody else worthwhile. Like maybe a Gallanari.

Washington has already tried to dump GA. With the way Tyreke is playing, maybe the Kings think Kevin Martin is expendable? The Gasol trade to the Lakers a fewyears back?

Nobody is trading talent for some illusion that TMac is 'back.' Teams would be doing it for financial reasons, and you gotta give a little to get alittle. In this case, give a little more to get a lot back. (23M expiring)

Only problem with Gallanari is that he's going back overseas next year

who told you gallanari is going overseas?

and the rockets may take a deal involving curry and jefferies. all that money would expire just a year after. if they feel like they don't have a giantshot at landing one of the top 4 free agents of 2010 then they may make a deal like this and make a huge splash 2011

dude said curry and gallinari for mac
roll.gif

i would stop supporting the knicks until donnie walsh and mike d are assassinated if they got rid of gallinari in a salary dump.

and who said gallo is going back to europe after this season @$+ is all this non-sense being spoken about the rooster

Gallo would never get traded. Not even if Don Nelson was our GM,

The thing is, the Rockets are looking for a lot for Tmac. Hes looking for like a lottery pick, and an expiring (or something like that). who the hell wouldeven offer that?

Only teams i see are the Kings, and Wizards.
The Bulls can give them TT + expirings, but it doesnt help them at all.

If you want talent, you're going to have to take back longer contracts.

What people don't realize is the Rockets are willing to tack on a contract in a potential deal.

ya but there not going to take dead weight like the knicks package

It is dead weight.

That's what I was trying to say to Knicks fans. No way the Rockets take back Curry/Jeffries. Not the Rockets, not nobody.

The only way for the Knicks to unload that is to include somebody else. Harrington's expiring, Nate, Lee (who could veto a trade) etc.
