Any one got some mesh whitening techniques that don't mess with the mesh's integrity?

I've read on this site people recommending this stuff. I want to try them on my Pearl Foamposite from 1997, but a member said it could be too abrasive for them. I don't know though?

The powdered BFK makes the mesh chalky and dull
