(Reuters) - Retired American basketball star Michael Jordan is going to be a father again. He and his Cuban-American model wife, Yvette Prieto, are expecting their first child, celebrity magazine Us Weekly reported on Saturday, citing an unnamed Jordan representative.

No due date was reported.

Jordan, 50, and Prieto, 34, were married in April in Florida after a five-year courtship. They live near Miami.

Jordan has three adult children from his previous 17-year marriage to Juanita Venoy, which ended in divorce in 2006.

The Hall of Fame player won six National Basketball Association championships with the Chicago Bulls. He won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award five times and was named an all-star 14 times.

His on-court success and commercial endorsements have made him one of the most recognizable and prosperous athletes in the United States.

Even at 50, his airness still going hard in the paint.

I'm sure he had an ironclad prenup drawn up before putting a ring on it, but now that she's popped out a kid, she's golden...

Also, that Royal Rumble that will undoubtedly ensue between his old fam and his new fam, regarding how his estate is to be divided, after he croaks, will be the stuff of legend. Just you wait...

From what I've seen, most of the kids whose parents played in the league usually never amount to anything "special".

My theory is that when you are born into the good life, there is little to no opportunity to become acquainted with "hunger" and/or "drive". If you've had access to fame and fortune your whole life, what motivation is there to improve your situation? That's why, I believe, most of these kids who are the progeny of successful athletes rarely make it to the level, or surpass the level, their parents reached.

The brightest stars will always come from the trenches.

Dude practicing his game on a lopsided court full of broken glass, where gang-bangers hang out, deep in the hood >>>> will always have the greater will to succeed as a ball player (provided he has his head on right and is surrounded by enough positive influences) than the kid who has a heated bball court in his father's mansion in a gated community.

Even if a girl my g.

LOL but seriously I don't think spoiled rich kids are capable. The next Jordans out there are the ones who can barely eat that spend pretty much all their free time out on the concrete

edit: I see you beat me to the point.
