Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie (Reboot Announced)

Maybe I'm missing something or naive to it but I didn't catch the "poor" CGI that keeps being mentioned

You see it on a second viewing. Goldar is meh esp the scene where Rita sinks in to him.

Really?

It seemed like hostility in the beginning, but then later it looked like Kimberly was trying to smash.

Whut?! lol I didn't see that either

What movie would you say thats comparable that has better CGI

like Transformers? or like Avengers?

bruh when they were in krispy kreme playing with the donuts, i knew it was finna go down. that was courting **** you do with your girl

OMG it took me a minute to remember this

Damn i didn't even look at it like that

I dunno about comparible but Robocop reboot had the same budget and i think the CGI was better there. You can't really compare to any of the MCU movies cuz their budgets blow this away.

I've never seen Pacific Rim but it had almost twice the budget not sure if it was good or not.

Hellboy 2 had 15mill less and those CGI effects were good.

So apparently the Jason/Kimberly kiss scene was cut out because test audiences hated it and felt it was outta place.

Jason David Frank, Original ‘Power Rangers’ Star, Kicked Out of Movie Premiere
It wasn’t Rita Repulsa or a swarm of Putties that proved most dangerous to original Power Rangers actor Jason David Frank on the new movie’s premiere night — it was his own cellphone.
Frank, who played the Green Ranger (then the White Ranger) on the ’90s origin series, told The Hollywood Reporter that — ***SPOILER*** — he was more than eager to catch his cameo as Tommy in the new movie. But eagerness became overzealousness when Frank whipped out his phone to record the moment on the big screen, at which point he wound up getting shown the door.
“I’m the guy in the movie theater who wanted to get a reaction shot of the audience reacting to Amy [Jo Johnson] and me when our cameo appeared,” he said. “Right after our cameo appeared, I got escorted out by security because I had a camera in the movie. I didn’t see the end of the movie, because security was arguing with me outside and I was trying to tell security, ‘That’s me in the movie!’ And they said, ‘I need your phone!’ I’m like, ‘You’re not getting my phone!'”
And so, Frank says he missed the entire cameo, and he’s still yet to see it.
“I didn’t get to see the end of the movie when they called Tommy. I was so upset,” he noted.
Friends don’t let friends bring cellphones to exclusive movie premieres.

Also this is funny too

Back in the Valley. Watched the movie during my last night in Austin, TX. Still had a good viewing the 2nd time. I do share the same gripes with quite a few of you guys in here but It's not enough to take away what I did enjoy about the movie.

Also, not much different than the version I saw last year. CGI and music was finally done. Rita doing a little bit of fighting at the dock wasn't in what I orginally saw. The Rangers fighting the Putties on the cliff looked so much better in the test screening because the suits were NOT CG, it was all practical and the Rangers were fighting against green screen suits. So after adding in Putties and the glowing piping in the Ranger suits made it all look CG.

Now that the story is established, I'm just gonna ride the wave. Hopefully it continues.

Just hope Dean Isrealite stays on. I like his vision. Nowadays, directors leaving their beloved projects over creative differences with the studios, I understand its the way they business works. so I'm bracing for it.

With the Ranger aspect, just give me a good balance of on-ground Ranger action and Zord stuff next time. The potential of Tommy going against 5 and in The Raid style (wishful thinking), could be amazing.

seen it last night and i enjoyed the story of it and all but they only morphed once and fought in the suits against the puddys. i think the zords scene was longer than the fighting in the suits scene. i think thats my only gripe with this movie. goldar was very dissapointing as well. should of had them fighting a normal goldar and getting beat up then rita making him big once she finds the zeo crystal. too close to the show in that scenario but would of been better imo.
