Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that Aubrey Huff, Melvin Mora and Danys Baez all cleared waivers, and can now be dealt to any club.
Cristian Guzman cleared waivers and can now be traded to any club, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney.
Word on the street is, Jhonny Peralta, Travis Hafner, Jamey Carroll, Kelly Shoppach, Fausto Carmona and Kerry Wood all cleared waivers, too.
 
Nomar in Philly?: The Phillies are looking for a right-handed bat off the bench, and the team's top scout was at the A's series in Kansas City. Did we mention that Philadelphia courted Nomar Garciaparra in the offseason? Could a waiver deal or a waiver claim be in the works? A's general manager Billy Beane would allow Garciaparra the courtesy of OKing a deal. Garciaparra, asked about Philly, said, "Sure, why not?"

The Giants claimed Trevor Hoffman, but it appears that the Brewers will pull the reliever off waivers instead of negotiating a trade, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney.
The Twins acquired Ron Mahay from the Royals, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney.
The Twins acquired Jon Rauch from the Arizona Diamondbacks for a player to be named later, according to an MLB.com press release.
The Angels are close to acquiring Scott Kazmir from the Rays for Alexander Torres and Matthew Sweeney, according to MLB.com's Lyle Spencer.

The Red Sox have acquired speedy outfielder Joey Gathright from the Orioles, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com. Baltimore with receive either a player to be named later or cash considerations in the deal.

Chico Harlan of The Washington Post reports that the Nationals traded infielder Ronnie Belliard to the Dodgers following today's game. Washington will receive A-ball pitcher Luis Garcia and a player to be named in the deal.

SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Dodgers have acquired Jim Thome. The White Sox will receive infielder Justin Fuller in the deal, and are sending cash to LA that will presumably cover at least part of Thome's salary according to Mark Gonzales of The Chicago Tribune.

Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun Times reports that the White Sox have traded Jose Contreras to the Rockies. Mark Gonzales of The Chicago Tribune says the ChiSox are also sending cash to Colorado, and will receive righthander Brandon Hynick in return.
The Dodgers have acquired righthander Jon Garland, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman. MLB.com's Steve Gilbert says the Diamondbacks will receive a player to be named later in return.

Gilbert says Arizona is paying the rest of Garland's salary for this year, as well as the buyout of his 2010 option. Sweet deal for the Dodgers.
