Tonight we'll see clouds spread over the area with a chance of light snow developing around midnight. Snow should continue through around daybreak and then change to off and on showers possibly mixed with rain in some places later in the morning. Accumulations by daybreak could range from a trace to 4" with the greater amounts near Bellingham, along the Hood Canal and in the foothills of the Cascades.www.king5.com/weather/10day.html

...SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 10 AM PST TUESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A SNOW ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 10 AM PST TUESDAY.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE TUESDAY MORNING. BY 10 AM OR NOON THE SNOW WILL MOSTLY CHANGE TO RAIN AND BECOME SHOWERY.

ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM AROUND AN INCH IN URBAN HEAT ISLANDS LIKE DOWNTOWN SEATTLE...TO 2 OR 3 INCHES IN OUTLYING AREAS. ISOLATED SPOTS COULD GET MORE SNOW.

TEMPERATURES WILL RISE TO NEAR 40 DEGREES TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND PRECIPITATION WILL BE RAIN SHOWERS. THIS SHOULD LEAD TO MELTING OF MOST SNOW ON THE GROUND AND ON ROADS.

OVERNIGHT LOWS ON TUESDAY NIGHT WILL AGAIN DROP BELOW FREEZING. SNOW FLURRIES ARE POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT... BUT A MORE LIKELY HAZARD IS WET ROADS REFREEZING BY MORNING.

...SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 10 AM PST TUESDAY...

A SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 10 AM PST TUESDAY.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE TUESDAY MORNING. BY LATE MORNING THE PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO SCATTERED SHOWERS OF MOSTLY RAIN.

ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM AROUND AN INCH IN URBAN HEAT ISLANDS LIKE DOWNTOWN SEATTLE...TO 2 OR 3 INCHES IN OUTLYING AREAS. THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS IN THE ADVISORY AREA WILL PROBABLY OCCUR IN THE NORTHWEST INTERIOR...WHERE ISOLATED SPOTS COULD GET UP TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW.

TEMPERATURES WILL RISE TO NEAR 40 DEGREES TUESDAY AFTERNOON. OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL BE BELOW FREEZING TUESDAY NIGHT THOUGH ...AND WET ROADS WILL BECOME ICY AND HAZARDOUS BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

A SNOW ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE MAINLY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
